MDF(Medium Density Fibreboard)is prepared by combining broken down hardwood and softwood residuals with the help of wax and resin adhesives. This process is undertaken under high temperature and pressure conditions. MDF gives a very fine finish to interior surfaces. It’s cost-effective and good for use on shelving, storage cabinets, and decorative projects. It also has a smooth surface, which is perfect for painting.

Moisture resistant MDF is a ridiculously versatile sheet material that comes with high internal bond strength. The product is utilised extensively throughout furniture and construction industries, usually for interior applications subjected occasionally by high humidity and wetting.
As such, a waterproof MDF board engineered to deal with high moisture levels and humidity without affecting its strength and quality. This kind of MDF comprises moisture–repelling resin, which offers excellent resistance to wet conditions like kitchens, boats, washrooms, and bathrooms.
Meant for interior applications, this premium sheet material is available in various thicknesses to suit varying project requirements.
At Fortune BM(CAMELPLY's head company), we trade(we are trader for MR/FR/Plain MDF, manufactuter for melamine paper MDF) varied thicknesses of MDF wood ranging from ⅛” to 1 ½” and sheet sizes from 4’ x 8’ to 5’ x 12’. MDF wood options include: bendy, ultralite, fire retardant, moisture resistant, extira, beadboard, and slatwall.
Standard Grade MDF is a flexible product that is suitable for all kinds of applications.
It has a uniform density, precision-control thickness and a sanding smoothness leading to a great surface finish.
MDF panels apply to a host of residential and commercial fixtures, including, but not limited to, slotwalls, millworks, store fixtures and cabinetry.
Moisture-resistant (MR) panels are suitable for interior applications where there is a tendency towards prolonged exposure to wetness and humidity. While The Moisture Resistant Grade of MDF is good to tackle 80% relative humidity, it can also counter higher relative humidity for short periods. It is a brilliant alternative for display fixtures, kitchen cabinetry, school casework and store fixtures.
MDF (FR) is suitable for areas where building regulations require the use of Fire Resistant Grade. The MDF offered in this variant can undergo full-fledged cutting and edging. It is largely used to offer structural support to interior panels, cabinets, furniture and wardrobe. These are certified fibreboards that undergo various toxic control tests.
Melamine paper overlay adds an aesthetic dimension to medium density fibreboards. In evenly matched colour combinations and a well-spread design range, melamine overlays can cater to all local colours and patterns. The melamine overlay goes through a thickness tolerance test, density tolerance test and bending strength test before being put up for sale. The overlays are easy to clean, offer a high degree of water resistance, are durable, resistant to abrasion and micro-bacterium, and do not deform under the application of pressure.
The resistant moisture MDF offers great features that make it an incredible product to use in interior applications;
Note: Though waterproof MDF sheets termed to be ‘moisture-resistant’ are not the same as water-resistant solid wood, they are still vulnerable to warping and swelling if exposed directly to water.
